The Play On platform was designed to offer the perfect opportunities for up-and-coming talents to rise and prove their skills, but also for battle tested pros and streamers to give their audience some unforgettable gaming highlights. Being a game-changer on its own, under this platform, Samsung wanted to change the rules and created some groundbreaking events and pieces of entertainment that thrilled the gaming community; with the mission to make the brand the go-to when it comes to PC, console, and mobile gaming. Play On With Samsung platform encompasses all local Samsung initiatives meant to support an emergent industry, where many players are involved. Samsung brought its innovative technology to prove that anyone can play games, have fun or even make a job out of this. In terms of planning, we mapped out and secured the main stakeholders in the industry: content creators (1/4 of Team Galaxy – the Samsung brand ambassadors – are gamers and content creators in the gaming industry), partnerships (securing collaboration with Nexus – one of the most important gaming organization), gaming events (attending the most important in the industry, such as Gaming Marathons, Gaming Video Awards, Bucharest Gaming Week and East Eurpean Comic Con). Furthermore, we invested in own product events (the launch of our newest smartphones included a gaming layer – the Galaxy S21 online event emphasized on the gaming features and created a virtual gaming world; at Galaxy Foldables offline event we demonstrated with our gaming ambassadors the technical performances of live playing), own competitions (Wild Rift competition), and last – creating relevant content for our audience: mobile gaming reviews (our gamers used and reviewed our latest smartphones from a gaming point of view), creating GRL Power (the first female gaming squad) and Game Translator – a series of videos aimed to ”decode” the gaming slang. |
