Strategic approach: The Romanian salty snacks market is a battlefield. With global giants, local competitors, and private-label brands all fighting for shelf space, standing out is harder than ever. Consumers are bombarded with ads through traditional media channels, leading to declining engagement rates and a growing struggle for attention.
Chio Chips, one of the snacks category leaders, had a bold goal: To prove that a data-driven, omnichannel retail media approach could outperform traditional advertising channels and:
• Capture 35% of all digital conversions through retail media
• Drive at least a 2% uplift in sales volumes with a fraction of the total media budget
To achieve this, Chio added retail media for the first time to their communication strategy - leveraging predictive AI, real-time shopper data, and an omnichannel execution to deliver the right message at the right time to the right audience.
